Social Skill Building for Children aged 7-10 (boys and girls)
Social Skills Scene for Adolescent Boys
Groups occur in a relaxed setting where participants can meet others and practice positive social skills. Skills to be targeted are based on group member's strengths and needs. A typical session is structured as follows: greetings, discussion of the target skill, practice of the target skill through a planned activity, and wrap-up. Skills may include conversation skills, how to share and listen, join in and intitiate play and conversation, collaborating with peers, and resolving conflicts.Groups are run 1 hr/week for 8 weeks Contact Dr. Gordon directly at 878-3184 or gordonpsychology@hotmail.com.
Adolescent Social Skills Group for Girls
The goal of this group is to promote and refine positive social skills for adolescent girls. Through the use of modeling, role-playing, structured activities, and discussion group participants will work toward refining their social skills, a better understanding of the nuances of adolescent relationships, developing better coping skills, and having an opportunity to find support among adolescents with similar concerns. Topics such as dealing with bullying and presenting yourself in a positive manner will be covered. Groups are offered at Campbell House, run for 8 weeks for 1 hour, times and dates to be announced.
