Spring Conference – 2007
“Accessing Peers within the General Education Setting to Promote the Social and Academic Growth of Students with Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders”
The Day will include best practices in setting up a Peer Network for students within the General Education setting (Elementary – High School). A review of techniques for peer coaching and the use of peers to promote social acceptance, independence and social skills will be reviewed. Creative strategies for building connections within social skills/lunch bunch groups will also be covered.
Where: The Crossings in Colonie – Albany Shaker Road
When: Wednesday, May 30th: 9:00 – 3:00 pm. (registration starts at 8:30 am).
Cost: 95$ per registrant – coffee/bagels provided, lunch on your own.
Presenters: Dr. Gina Cosgrove, Dr. Frank Salamone, Karen Peper and participants from local Peer Network programs.
